WORD ORDER

Seaspeak has a fairly strict Subject-Object-Oblique-Verb (SOV) word order. "Mary opened the door with a key" turns into “Mary the door key-with opened.”

*Note: in the example below, the idea of “dog” and “cat” have been replaced with their equivalent animals in the distant-future of Numenera. Seskii, called sechī in Seaspeak, are scaly dog-like creatures, and frilled bauls, called māhle in Seaspeak, are large semi-feline mammals. Both are considered dōsara, domesticated animals.*
